# How do I determine how many lights I need in my greenhouse?

 

Once the DLI target is determined for a specific greenhouse and crop, the inquiry shifts to how many lighting fixtures are required and how they should be arranged. This process typically involves utilizing a computerized light plan. By inputting the greenhouse's floor plan and the average DLI, along with the target light level, the system calculates the necessary amount of additional light. Through computer simulation, the placement of fixtures is adjusted until the optimal DLI level is achieved uniformly across the entire greenhouse, using the fewest fixtures possible. The result is a detailed computerized plan that recommends the precise placement and quantity of lights needed for optimal growth.
