# How to save on your greenhouse energy bill with LED grow lights?

LED lighting can significantly reduce energy costs in a greenhouse. Replacing HPS lighting with LEDs can immediately save 50% of the electrical requirements for lighting. Additionally, since LEDs are twice as efficient and generate half the heat, there are further savings in heating costs. Compared to HPS lighting, these savings can easily amount to 50% or more. For those adding supplemental lighting for the first time, it's essential to calculate the cost of the lighting against the increased yield to achieve a favorable return on investment by the end of the year.
