Is spectrum important for indoor cannabis growers?

While light intensity is crucial for achieving optimal yields, not all light is equal in terms of spectrum. The most efficient wavelengths for driving yield are in the red and blue ranges, while whites and greens are less impactful. During the vegetative stage, plants generally require a higher ratio of blue light to prevent stretching, whereas during the flowering stage, maximizing red light and reducing blue light enhances yield for fruit and flowers.

Many growers use different light fixtures for the vegetative and flowering stages of growing. However, with Mega Drive and all California LightWorks lights (except the SolarXtreme series), the spectrum can be adjusted, allowing growers to use the same light for veg, flower, and final finishing spectrums.
