What is the MegaFlip?

California Lightworks has introduced an innovative enhancement to their Mega Drive LED grow light system called the Mega Flip. The Mega Drive system itself is a 10,000-watt remote power supply capable of running up to 27 400-watt fixtures. It offers incredible flexibility with no electrical wiring needed in the grow space, as all necessary cabling and mounting hardware are provided. This system can be mounted on a wall, ceiling, or even outside the grow room, up to 500 feet away, next to an electrical panel. It features automated spectrum control for different growth phases, including propagation, veg, pre-flower, flower, and final finishing.

The Mega Flip takes this flexibility to a new level by allowing growers to run two rooms, each with 10,000 watts of power, from a single power supply. The basic Mega Drive has one AC power outlet and two DC outlets to run a bank of 27 lights. With the Mega Flip, two main cables go to the power flip box, which then provides two sets of cables. A special controller switches the box, automatically alternating between two rooms every 12 hours. This means one room operates at the desired power and spectrum settings for 12 hours, then the system switches seamlessly to the second room for the next 12 hours.

This innovation enables growers to double their grow capacity using a single 10,000-watt power input, running a total of 54 lights continuously on a 12/12 schedule. The Mega Flip is revolutionary in terms of installation, cost-efficiency, and maximizing grow space. It offers a solution for growers who have been limited by power constraints or those looking to expand their operations from single to double levels without additional power limitations.
