With HPS lights, the bulbs needed frequent replacement due to loss of intensity and spectrum shifts, often occurring within 6 to 9 months. In contrast, LEDs retain their intensity and spectrum for 20 to 30 years. From a maintenance perspective, it is advisable to periodically blow off or wash off the LEDs, particularly if they are waterproof, to remove any dust, accumulated dirt, or sprays.
